REVIEW #103: C60 Manifesto (Revolutions Brewing Co.)

Pours for all intents and purposes black with a tan head. Dark malt, cookie-dough and a dash of gravy (I thought so anyway!) on the nose. Ashy in taste, biscuit-dry and plenty of bitterness. Citrussy pine hops coming through, my guess is one or more of the 3 C's, and that may be another tie-in with the C-Series thing. Finishes smoky/ashy/cindery. Lovely stuff.

West Yorkshire's Revolutions Brewing Co. base all their beers on music. They go as far as producing exclusively 4.5% and 3.3% ABV beers (in tribute to (7") 45rpm and (12"/10") 33rpm vinyl speeds respectively), this beer being the exception at 6%. C60 Manifesto is the first (and currently only) instalment of Revolution's C-series; their homage to the gone-but-not-forgotten audio cassette. C60 being the cassette containing the thickest tape, holding about 30 mins of music. Their other beers have names such as Kraftwerk Braun Ale and Clash Porter.
